BP ADL Grand Final Safety Car
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship introduces a new look Safety Car, the Porsche Taycan GTS, carrying a livery designed to launch the bp Adelaide Grand Final. The car will first be seen in action at the season’s opening endurance round at The Bend.
The design was created by Tim Pattinson of TP Race Design and installed by Elite Wrappers in Sydney. Built on a mirror chrome base, the livery uses clear overlays carrying green, purple, and black shapes drawn from the bp Adelaide Grand Final colour palette. Event branding and Supercars Finals Series logos are applied over the top in a gloss finish, producing a layered appearance that highlights the key visual elements while allowing the chrome to remain visible underneath.
“When I received the brief for the new look straight away I thought this would be an exciting project to work on,” Pattinson said. “The bold and bright colours of the ADL Grand Final brand along with permission to push the limits on what could be achieved was a lot of fun to work on.”
The bp Adelaide Grand Final replaces the traditional Adelaide 500 as the final round of the season and forms the conclusion of the new Finals Series. Under this system, the championship will be decided across the last three events—Gold Coast, Sandown, and Adelaide. Only the top four drivers will reach the Adelaide round, with points reset before three races on the street circuit that will determine the season champion.
Pattinson also acknowledged the work that went into bringing the design to life: “The guys up at Elite Wrappers in Penrith NSW did a stellar job on the install and it was great to receive updates as to how it was coming together. There’s no shortage of hours that go into a job like this and I’m looking forward to seeing it on track later this week.”
